Chapter I? Deep Dark Holes Deep in The South Where shadows tell lies Each lonely stray Cold and hard A passerby Screen doors slam By light of full moon Bleak wind blows Through fresh cut lawns Deep dark holes Dug just for you Deep dark holes You could be one of them Deep dark holes Echo from the depths below A creature slinks From the trash of the countryside It's nylon jacket Stinks of cigarettes and engine oil Deep dark holes Dug just for you Deep dark holes You could be one of them Deep dark holes... 'Tween the pines Desperate screams and a wide open mouth As they slip away Washed ashore Like tumbleweeds in dust Souls haunt The depths of the riverbed Their rotten stain A scar on the rural town As her eyes Go silent and dead Her final moments Married, secret Play on in his head Deep dark holes Dug just for you Deep dark holes You could be one of them Deep dark holes Echo from the depths below (Radio) All alone he sits listening to the radio in an old Buick Plotting his next dance of obscurum Their shrill screams hidden somewhere beyond his wall of sleep

Chapter II: Doppelgänger As I look at these grainy pictures I see a darkness in myself A reflection on the bijou Where murky water lies Were I to have lived another life Would I have been a killer On an eeirie, ominous night? I've met my doppelgänger Before the morning light A wild eyed man in a haunted cell If I act like I seen a ghost Sir, your mistaken I seen the devil In his long reptilian stare Heaven knows she raised a creature A beast with bat like wings Cast the county in it's shadow It breeds what bites Leaves a path of dread in it's wake It's pit of terror Is this your fate? Watch your back Make no mistake And if I act like I seen a ghost Ma'm, you're mistaken I seen the devil In his long reptilian stare 'Till this day it chills my bones Obsession hid behind a smile The childlike innocence he wore as a mask All alone in his locked room Desires so starkly bizarre Lust for power gone to extremes He is the monster of your dreams The unknown monster at the end of your dreams As I look at these grainy pictures I see a darkness in myself A reflection on the bijou Where murky water lies

Well the Texas sun was blazing hot Joe sat on a rock in the middle of mesquite The desert winds hit hard On his back and worn out feet He loads his shotgun 1... 2... 3... Well he rested the barrel on his knee For the men who killed his wife Shelley Her flowered dreams caste to a dreadful sea To be married and buried 'Neath the birch tree Her ghost stands in the door frame Of a kitchen in a condemned house He's tied them up one by one As he catches the killers by surprise The smell of alcohol and cigarettes On their rotten breath As they whimper and plead with petty lies He longs to ease the burden of blood that is on his mind 1... 2... 3... Their screams don't keep the wounds at bay Her garden of roses in summer rays Sky blue eyes light his way Caressing golden hair in bails of hay This will be his final day 1! To be married and buried 'Neath the birch tree

There's a killer in the wood It's name is time This raging cancer Soaks our soul in the brine Beasts await Slithering in the swamp Us fools stand alone With the hunger in our haunt Faded memory of a town (See the moss cover kindred memories) I'm spooked beyond belief Dark stars are alight (Feel the ghosts that are fading slowly in darkness) Take a walk amongst the tombstones Through vacant lots in the night (On our graves) Unnamed jungles roam To the place I call home 'Neath the killin' fields Of my father's dreams And the ghost In his eyes Eminent decay On signs of the freeway You'll cling for your mind Leaders keep you astray For broken down homes And dead end jobs 'Neath the blazing sun While your childhood's robbed Faded memory of a town (See the moss cover kindred memories) I'm spooked beyond belief Dark stars are alight (Feel the ghosts that are fading slowly in darkness) Take a walk amongst the tombstones Through vacant lots in the night (On our graves) Echo'd plight Abandoned factory halls Cobwebs eat At whitewashed walls With our hearts In hometown pride Memories die Like the stars in the sky (Radio) Desperate love by the dirty roadside in a trailer 'Neath the lights and power lines of a backwoods town Are you a monstrosity or beloved to the shadows within?

Chapter V: Be Here For You Well, I know it's men Built a callous round your heart Loneliness Has really got you down But I'm here for you Through the black and blue I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you With my tender heart Through the black and blue I'll be here for you Well I know the world Has built you up As an object Of their own desire And you've fallen Into their loathsome trap But I'm here for you Through the black and blue I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you With my tender heart Through the black and blue I'll be here for you Livin' reruns Of golden past Thoughtless girl Behind a mask The outer dark Where your enter fears lie But I'll still love you babe I'll be by your side And someone Musta' made you a monster Kept you caged below You were the light In my dyin' world Now you've faded into headlights The rain keeps pourin' down I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you I'll be here for you Whenever you want me to Through the black and blue Against the darkness you yourself I'll be here for you

'Mongst the rainstorm Tryin' to keep peddles on flowers And keep the rocking boats at bay Yet the voices keep calling From inspiration we stray Listen to them Bring them to life Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home 'Neath the marshes of mediocre decay With thoughtless distractions in the way Don't let the money changers bring you down The truth is inside If your soul hits the ground You have one life to live This is your own Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home The light versus the dark The hope versus the stark You have it in you A bright shining star In a dark looming sky Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home Find your way home

Chapter VII: Dream Within a Dream The crooked walls Of this cafe Peel away Like veins on an ol' oak tree It's branches Claw at my restless spirit A spotted mirror Reveals the face that I fear Been workin' this juke joint For many a year Time and again It never fails To produce a tear And you'll find yourself Weeping at the moon That some miracle Will happen upon this tomb Then you'll find yourself In an empty room Where there's no way out No way out Even in your dreams No way out No way out Like a steady conscious stream Past dreams Haunt my bed at night And breathe On the scars Of my heart I pray heavenly Father Why have you forgotten this place? Where the soulless Stand above mass graves Walls get dustier And grimier every day When there's no way out No way out Even in your dreams No way out No way out Like a steady conscious stream You may sing praises To the restless sun Say prayers to the desert wind But always Arrive back here A flat circle Time and again And you'll find yourself Weeping to the moon That the darkness Caresses you soon So you can start again Another life Where there's no way out No way out Even in your dreams No way out No way out Like a steady conscious stream No way out No way out Even in your dreams No way out No way out Like a slow drying stream

Chapter VIII: La Llorona (Radio) There lived a man who wasn't there Within a gaping house of madness Plagued by the voices of lonely souls Dead and gone He laughed He cried He lived He died (Whisper) Awake Cold air Arise Thick mist Pleading Voices Reveal antebellum houses You wanta turn On a light but you'll see Letting go Of all sanity Spectre The dark Shape that leers Beside you You can only See It's smile The thing That laughs And chills You It can only Do you harm As it's chills you Gravely to the bone You wanta turn On a light but you'll see Letting go Of all sanity Spectre The dark Shape that leers Beside you You can only See It's smile The moon Hangs behind Pillowed Ominous clouds Haunting The slithering bog As dark shadows Weep for the light (Voice) You wanta turn On a light but you'll see Letting go Of all sanity Spectre The dark Shape that leers Beside you You can only See It's smile (Radio) As this circular carousel went on and on 'Till it swallowed him whole Making of him A permanent fixture on the wall

Chapter IX: Sacrifice to the Beast (Radio) Are we really in control? Somewhere deep inside There's still that thing we all share That somehow We won't be okay That the beast is out there Ready to consume us (Singing) If these woods could speak What a story they would tell 'Bout the children Caste under his spell They kept ol' Sylvia Alone for day Tied to an ol' oak tree In the summer haze Their crooked smiles As they scream in ecstasy Sacrifice to the beast Pull a name out of the hat Now you're gone Where silver tongued devils Lick away Soft minds to... Sacrifice to the beast Gather those who've gone wrong Where corrupt hands Peel their way To child like dreams The bloody barrens Where rotten children play As the sun bakes on their dirty skin In a circle Doing naughty things Cult personality Gone insane Whilst in control Of a teenager with a lizard brain Sacrifice to the beast Pull a name out of the hat Now you're gone Where silver tongued devils Lick away Soft minds to... Sacrifice to the beast Gather those who've gone wrong Where corrupt hands Peel their way To child like dreams The only way To please their hateful god Is by beating Upon soft hide Brambling wood Tell me no lie Innocent fear Takes 'em for a ride Thin stinking body In a swamp the day she died Sacrifice to the beast Pull a name out of the hat Now you're gone Where silver tongued devils Lick away Soft minds to... Sacrifice to the beast Gather those who've gone wrong Where corrupt hands Peel their way To child like dreams

Chapter X: Bungelosenstraße (Radio) She's dropped off 'side the freeway In a greasy brown case By the man she trusted to protect 'er After leavin' a decrepit hotel room As the birds chirped at dawn (Singing) Rage Is a killer high Once you pop You cannot stop And death A one way street And life Is but a dream But a dream But a dream Life Is but a dream I saw her On the path A burning Crept up in me What I've got Can't be cured I'm the sum Of all your fears All your fears All your fears The sum Of all your fears She had somethin' I never had An innocence Deplorable Snuffed 'er out Young daffodil The world One giant hill Giant hill Giant hill A hill Young daffodils Paper hearts Drenched in dago red Lilac fields Soaked in fantasy As the children Bathe in mysterious sleep Perchance to dream Or not to dream at all... Rage Is a killer high Once you pop You cannot stop And death A one way street And life Is but a dream

Chapter XI: Killing Fields There is a void A black hole That sucks the flesh Off unwilling girls It scythes 'em down One by one 'Midst foreplayed fear Sadistic fun Where swamplands conspire To keep murder silent It's mesquite jaws Devour the innocent Lie human bones Without their meat How can an animal Have socks on it's feet? There's a void 'neath the freeway That rips the flesh Off wayward girls It scythes 'em down One by one 'Midst foreplayed fear Sadistic fun Beside the rumbling highway Where beasts live Hiding their greasy faces Silently killing The graying light Emerged in marshes In various places The things that you Hold so dear Now escape you Umbrellas of Your families love Vanished without a trace 'Neath a street light A grimy gas station haunt There is a void A black hole That sucks the flesh Off unwilling girls It scythes 'em down One by one 'Midst foreplayed fear Sadistic fun You will wail all night But you won't be heard 'Neath oil refineries gloom Milk carton effigies Of the missing herd 'Mongst the years Of questioned doom (Radio) Life and death are the only truths Good and evil? Right and wrong? We are all one step away from decency and that deranged abyss One leap away from sanity into chaos
